Describe how you came to do create "Friend Movement":
Friend Movement was born organically out of a discussion between myself and a group of passionate artists who wanted to make a difference. As we continued to work on our vision, it became clear that this work was much bigger than our small group! We engaged a team of creative and talented artists to take it to the next level. If it was going to be truly successful we needed to find a way to encourage people from all over the world to lend their voice. It had to be a grass roots effort.
Tell us why you do what you do:
I was personally bullied as a kid and I still get bullied today, even death threats. People can really be horrible to one another, but we all have the same capacity for love and kindness. It hurts me to learn of anyone that has been bullied or that has become so depressed that they end up taking their own life. No one should ever feel alone or that they have no one to turn to for support.
What has been your greatest accomplishment so far:
Never giving up when things get too difficult or scary.
What aspects of your job do you like best?
I love that I get to be an artist, but I also get to put my business skills to the test. More that that, I love meeting all the fascinating people along the way and getting to share their stories with the world via Friend Movement.
What aspects of your job do you like the least?
The hardest part of my job has to be fund-raising. The work we do takes a great deal of funding and unfortunately money does not grow on trees. Every dollar really counts and gets put towards developing programs, growing the vision, and helping those in the community to share their stories in meaningful ways.
A few years ago you entered "Make me a Supermodel" and came in second place, tell us what life has been since:
Life since MMASM has been quite a roller-coaster filled with ups and downs and a lot of life lessons. Many people think that being on reality TV is the key to instant fame, fortune, and success, but I can tell you that is simply not true. I have spent time working with charities, taking acting classes, and dreaming into reality the life that I have always wanted to live. After spending a few years in NYC I now happily reside in Los Angeles, California with my BF and my two beautiful cats Tiny & Calamity Jane.
Do you still keep in contact with some of the other contestants?
